Privacy & your quiz data

Quizzes work without an account

Use a shared link, enter the name your teacher asks for, and submit. Your teacher sees your entered name, grade, answers, score and time. Guest names are self-reported. Taking a quiz never joins a class.

Accounts are optional

An account saves your name, username, grade, password hash, recovery-code hash, class memberships and quiz records. We do not ask for an email, date of birth or address. Ask your teacher which name to use.

Your teacher can review submissions to their quizzes. Other students cannot view your marks or answers. Class comparisons show only an anonymous average, after at least three other registered classmates have a mark in that class and quiz. There are no named rankings or advertising trackers.

Your controls

Join classes using an invitation from your teacher. Leaving a class keeps your saved marks. In My account settings, download your data, change your password or delete your account.

Deleting your account removes your login, memberships and recovery details. Teacher records retain scores and answers with the name “Deleted account”; your name, grade and account connection are removed from those records. Download your data before deletion. School records may remain recognizable from context or answers; your teacher can delete the session if required by school policy.

Keep your recovery code private

Save the code at signup. It lets you reset a forgotten password without email. Each reset replaces the code and signs out older sessions. If you lose both your password and code, your teacher must verify you before resetting the account. A username or email alone is not proof of ownership.

How long records stay

Accounts and submitted records stay until you or your teacher remove them. Archiving a class or quiz preserves history. Teachers should review retention at the end of each term and follow their school's policy. Database backups may retain previous records temporarily; deleted data must not be restored into active use without honoring deletion requests.

Data is stored on the existing Cloudflare Workers/D1 service. Student names and answers are not sent to the question-writing AI. If your teacher uses an external AI to prepare a lesson, that service has its own privacy terms.

For teachers and schools

Before asking minors to create accounts, obtain the school’s approval and any required guardian consent, choose appropriate names, determine the lawful basis and retention period, and review Cloudflare’s processing terms and data location. This page describes product behavior; the school is responsible for its privacy notice and policies.
